How They Got In and Why They Chose Sonos
Section titled “How They Got In and Why They Chose Sonos”- Entry point: Recommended by an online article more than ten years ago, I thought WiFi playback was very convenient, so I bought two Fives one after another to play in different rooms. At the same time, I saw Devialet in a store and felt that the sound of SONOS was not inferior, but the price was much more affordable.
- Cross-brand comparison: To play music using WiFi, there may be no better choice than using chromcast.
- One line for beginners: Listen to it before buying it, trust your ears
Room Setup and Tuning
Section titled “Room Setup and Tuning”- Placement and constraints: Place the AU on the TV cabinet, and place a pair of Five on both sides of the AU; lock the Era 300 on the floor stand of the sub-factory, and place it on both sides of the sofa facing the TV.
- Trueplay feedback: The sound is relatively concentrated, and it is recommended to adjust Trueplay because it is very convenient to adjust the sound.
- Subwoofer decision: When setting up a theater, you need to buy a set. If it lacks a bass, it is not a set.
Day-to-Day Experience
Section titled “Day-to-Day Experience”- What they like most about Sonos: Easy to tune, sounds good in any space
- Who likes Sonos the most at home: Love all
- Mistaken for other gear: After installing it, no friends have come to visit yet.
Pain Points and Wishlist
Section titled “Pain Points and Wishlist”- Most frustrating issue: AirPlay often has connection problems or silent playback. After adjustment, it is fully stable.
- Feature request: Can the next generation of AU have more HDMI holes? In addition, although Dolby seems to be dominating the world, I still hope to support DTS.
Test Content and Preferences
Section titled “Test Content and Preferences”- Music used for testing: AU: apple Music supports any song that supports Dolby Atmos; Five: I like vocals, so I recommend Milet
- Movies used for testing: The air combat footage of Defender II has a lot of aircraft/missile sounds moving from the front to the rear.
Additional Notes
Section titled “Additional Notes”- Animal analogy for Sonos: A bird that sings beautifully and has beautiful feathers
- Most absurd thing they did: Buy two Fives to form a Stereo pair, and nothing you buy from now on will be ridiculous.
- Dream setup if budget was unlimited: Invest in SONOS and ask them to make a special edition app for me to play with speakers as I please
- Final note: The combination of AU+Era 300 gives a clear sense of space when watching movies, and it is not necessary to add a front. I guess if the front left and right are separated from the AU, the sky channel of the AU may lose its effect.
- Top-ranked device: Five’s sound is my favorite; although Era 300 has a sky channel, the sound is not as thick as Five’s (Amazon JP Purchase)
