Case Background (Anonymous)
Section titled “Case Background (Anonymous)”- Response timestamp: 2025/9/8 8:27:40 am
- Region and home layout: kaohsiung townhouse
- Primary use case: The living room is not big, about 7-8 square meters, and it is about 3:7 for listening to music and watching movies and dramas.
- Core setup: Arc Ultra, Sub 4, FIVE2, Era 3002
How They Got In and Why They Chose Sonos
Section titled “How They Got In and Why They Chose Sonos”- Entry point: I accidentally found out about this brand through the Facebook community. After hearing about it, I went to the store and immediately sold the two-channel system I was using, starting the road of no return for Sonos.
- Cross-brand comparison: Originally using 2.1 channels, I upgraded the system in order to have a surround feeling; after listening to Bose and KLIPSC, only SONOS can meet my needs for movies and music at the same time.
- One line for beginners: Just buy it, you won’t regret it
Room Setup and Tuning
Section titled “Room Setup and Tuning”- Placement and constraints: FIVE directly places the TV cabinet in front of the TV cabinet. Era 300 has brackets purchased from Taobao and placed directly on both sides of the sofa.
- Trueplay feedback: Before I purchased the luxury package, I purchased Era 300*2 and Sub 4 from Nichia and Bibion in June. When setting up a 2.1 system, I used Truepaly and connected to the TV using Bluetooth. I already had good music and movie performance (due to physical restrictions, I can’t feel the surround and sky yet). (the wonderful feeling of empty sound channels); I did not buy the remaining luxury equipment until I traveled to Japan in August. Currently, I use Sonos Sequencer to form the physical left and right channels. I am very satisfied with the immersion and shock brought by movies. Music can also bring a sense of transparency to human voices that previous sound blasters cannot provide.
- Subwoofer decision: None, once done
Day-to-Day Experience
Section titled “Day-to-Day Experience”- What they like most about Sonos: appearance, sound performance, and playability
- Who likes Sonos the most at home: myself
Pain Points and Wishlist
Section titled “Pain Points and Wishlist”- Most frustrating issue: Sometimes when re-establishing it cannot be as brainless as other systems, it requires a bit of logic
- Feature request: The combination of each channel (single unit) is more free
Test Content and Preferences
Section titled “Test Content and Preferences”- Music used for testing: Jiang Hui
- Movies used for testing: I just finished watching Stranger Things and it felt like a good immersion.
Additional Notes
Section titled “Additional Notes”- Animal analogy for Sonos: Leopard, suitable for both movement and stillness
- Most absurd thing they did: I originally scorned Sound Blasters, but after learning about this system, I completed my homework and went to Japan to buy a luxury complete set (including some online purchases) within 2 months.
- Dream setup if budget was unlimited: Each room (including bathroom, kitchen and garage) is equipped with luxurious suites
- Final note: I’ve said all that needs to be said. I’ll add more in the community anytime I think of it.
- Top-ranked device: Currently, I feel that Era 300*2 can handle the most simple scenarios (Amazon JP Purchase)
